Increasing Visibility of Reports with Power BI

Learn how UT Police in Houston is creating interactive dashboard for use within and outside our department using Power BI. Cloud technology has increased the adoption of dashboard viewing by members of our department because in four to five clicks of a mouse you can get the answer to basic questions about crime in our jurisdiction. The goal here isn't to replace the analyst, rather to have the analyst spend more time researching the finer details of cases and the nuances of the trends displayed using the interactive dashboards. This presentation will showcase a handful of dashboard we are utilizing and discuss how we created them at a high-level, and what's next on your journey.
Robert Haynes is a Manager of Security Risk Operations at UT Police in Houston, the police department for both UT MD Anderson Cancer Center and UT Health Houston. His team does the behind the scenes work for tactical and administrative crime analysis, as well as many of the investigative technologies at that department.
